Manliness in the Movies & on TV

Opening scene: Manly guy doing manly things. Women want to be with him, unmanly men want to be him. Eventually, unmanly guy tries to act manly. Hi-jinx ensue. Cut to action sequence. Manly guy dramatically gets girl, loses girl then gets her back while beating up, shooting and/or rescuing scores of people in the process. Credits roll. Extend that formula over multiple seasons for a TV show, make it 2-3 hours for a movie and there you have it… Meanwhile, you’ll find all our posts about men doing “manly” things in the movies or on television here.
